کاور لتر نامه ای است که از طریق نویسنده مقاله به سردبیر مجله نوشته میشود و همراه با مقاله به سردبیر ارسال میشود.این نامه میتواند تاثیر بسیار زیادی در پذیرش مقاله شما داشته باشد. کاور لتر معمولاً با نگارش نام و افیلییشن نویسندگان و همچنین راه‌های برقراری ارتباط با نویسندگان مقاله آغاز میشود. در ادامه توضیحاتی درباره نوع مقاله، دلیل انجام پژوهش و نکات مهم مقاله آورده میشود. همچنین علت ارسال مقاله به این مجله و همسویی آن با حیطه موضوعی مجله شرح داده میشود. در نهایت توضیحات مربوط به کپی رایت و همچنین چاپ نکردن مقاله در مجلات دیگر آورده میشود. اگرچه در بسیاری از موارد نسخه‌های آماده‌ای از کاور لتر را می‌توان با جستجو در اینترنت به دست آورد اما پژوهشگران باید این نکته را مورد توجه قرار دهند که جذابیت کاور لتر و همچنین اختصاصی بودن آن باعث توجه ادیتور مجله به مقاله خواهد شد.
بسیاری از نویسندگان نوشتن کاور لتر را فقط از سر تکلیف میدانند و در نوشتن آن دقت و توجه کافی را به کار نمیگیرند اما توصیه ی ما به این دانشجویان این است که در نوشتن این قسمت نیز اندازه سایر بخش های مقاله دقت و توجه کافی را داشته باشند زیرا این نامه به تنهایی میتواند تاثیر بسیار زیادی در پذیرش مقاله و جلب توجه داوران داشته باشد.شما باید با دقت و تمرکز کافی دلایل انتخاب مجله و کاربرد ها و تاثیراتی که مقاله میتواند روی مجله داشته باشد را در نامه بنویسید.محققین به این نتیجه دست یافته اند که نگارش کاورلتر مناسب تاثیر به سزایی در پذیرش مقاله دارد.

We would like to submit the enclosed manuscript, “XXXXX INFECTION BY XXXXX IN THAILAND” as a case report for the appreciation of this Journal.
We believe that this manuscript is important because it is the first case report of natural infection of a wild deer by XXXXX in Thailand.
Presently Thailand has the highest number of human cases reported in world literature, and many cases of human and animal infections have been reported throughout the Southeast Asia. Thus, we believe that this manuscript can contribute with data on epidemiology and transmission pathways of this parasite to elucidate the transmission cycle of this parasitosis in Thailand and other
Southeast Asian countries, thus contributing to the reduction of human cases.
This case report has not been presented elsewhere except in abstract form, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
